MHSO Highway Infrastructure webinar on June 22

ASHE Chesapeake will be hosting the next MHSO webinar on Thursday, June 22 at 12:00PM EST. The presentation will be approximately 45 minutes followed by time for questions and answers.

The session will focus on highway infrastructure and will speak directly to the work you do each day as a highway professional. The following speakers will discuss different safety issues as they relate to highway infrastructure.

Bala Akundi, Baltimore Metropolitan Council 

Bala is a Principal Transportation Engineer with the Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC), which provides technical support to the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Baltimore region. He has been an active member on three Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) planning and implementation teams dating back to 2004 and is currently serving as co-chair on the infrastructure emphasis area team. Over the past ten years, he has led the deployment of several safety education and outreach campaigns in the Baltimore region including the Street Smart pedestrian safety campaign.

Brian Chandler, Leidos

Brian is a Portfolio Manager for Surface Transportation Solutions for Leidos in the greater Seattle area. He is an author, public speaker and workshop facilitator with more than 18 years of experience in traffic safety and operations in state government, Federal government, and the private sector. His expertise includes hands-on field work, statewide leadership, business development, and project, program, and staff management. He is regarded as a national expert in crash data analysis, safety engineering countermeasures, safety evaluation, and safety program management.

Samantha Biddle, MD State Highway Administration
