June 7, 2018 – Annual Golf Tournament and Scholarship Fundraiser

The 14th Annual ASHE Chesapeake Golf Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser will be held at Oakmont Green on Thursday, June 7. Please join us on the course for a morning of fun and networking.

2018 ASHE Golf Registration

Golfers will begin with a shot-gun start at 9am. Space will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Email completed registration forms to Dion Ho at Dion.Ho@KCI.com to reserve your spot. Please note that again this year there is a reduced government rate to encourage participation from the public sector.

$95 per registrant ($65 for gov. employees)

Hole sponsorship’s are also available!  For a $200 donation towards the ASHE Chesapeake scholarship fund, you can create your own company logo sign to be placed at a tee box. Signs will be judged on entertainment value and the winner will be posted on the ASHE Chesapeake website. Refer to the registration form for additional information.

April 24th – Ellicott City Reconstruction Site Visit

Please join ASHE and our CMAA colleagues for another look at the Ellicott City Reconstruction efforts after the flask flood occurred in Summer 2016.  The meeting and tour will take place on April 24th with Mr. Tom Butler, Deputy Director of the Howard County DPW, as our host. The meeting will include a presentation of the Ellicott City flood emergency response and recovery efforts followed by a walking tour of the Ellicott City reconstruction progress.

The program for the afternoon includes:

2:00 PM: Presentation at George Howard Building  

Meet at the Ellicott/Columbia Room (1st Floor), George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043, where Tom Butler will present an overview of the efforts over the last year to reconstruct Old Ellicott City. Mr. Butler is the Deputy Director of Howard County DPW, Engineering, Development and Construction.

3:30 – 4:30 PM:

Ellicott City Reconstruction Walking Tour of Main Street 

Presentation attendees will be shuttled to Parking Lot F at the intersection of Ellicott Mills Road and Main Street, where the walking tour will begin.

Safety Equipment: Please wear solid, closed toe shoes or boots (steel-toed boots are not required).  Long pants, long sleeved shirts, high-visibility vests, hardhats and safety glasses are required.

5:00 – 6:30 PM: Happy Hour and Networking

Attendees are invited to happy hour at La Palapas afterwards. The bus will return everyone parked at the George Howard Building (3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043) after the tour.  Participants can then move to the parking areas along Main Street and join the crowd for  happy hour.

RSVP:  This event is limited to 20 ASHE attendees. Registration will be first come, first served.

Cost is $30 for ASHE members and $40 for non-members.

April 19 – 30th Anniversary Celebration & Member Appreciation Night

Join your ASHE colleagues for the annual Member Appreciation Night on Thursday, April 19, 2017, beginning 6pm at the Engineers Club in Baltimore.  At this year’s member appreciation event, we will be celebrating 30 years of ASHE Chesapeake.  

The event will begin with networking and an open bar followed by dinner featuring keynote speaker Richard Cochrane, ASHE National 1st Vice President. The Section will also present the John Bruck Memorial Scholarship to local university students and recognize Chesapeake Section Past Presidents.

The event is free for members and $20 for member’s guests. Want to join ASHE?  Sign-up to become a new member before or at the event and pay nothing to attend. Visit the Membership page for details on how to become a new member. The event is $50 for non-members and their guests.

April 22 Stream Clean Up Community Service Event

ASHE Chesapeake is teaming up with Blue Water Baltimore for a stream clean up at Carroll Park along the Gwynns Falls Trail. Please consider volunteering for this event with your fellow ASHE members.

We will be meeting at 9 AM on Sunday April 22nd at Trailhead 6 along the Gwynns Falls Trail system in Carroll Park in south Baltimore.  Parking is right off Washington Boulevard near the Carroll Park Golf Course.  For more information about the trail and how to get there, visit the Gwynns Falls Trail website.

After the trail clean up, join us at Pickle’s Pub to watch the Orioles take on the Indians at 1pm.  Lunch at Pickle’s will be provided by ASHE.
