Join ASHE on June 6, 2019 at Oakmont Green for its Annual Golf Tournament and Scholarship Fundraiser. The annual golf tournament is the primary fundraiser for the ASHE Chesapeake Scholarship Program, with all proceeds going toward the scholarship program.  This year, ASHE awarded three $4,000 scholarships to students studying civil engineering at local universities, bringing the total amount of scholarships awarded to date to over $80,000.  Donate $200 towards the ASHE scholarship fund and create your own company logo sign to be placed at a Tee Box on the course.

Skill and door prizes will be awarded at the event. Individual prizes include a Closest to Pin on Par 3s and a Men’s and Women’s longest drive. Team Prizes include a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize as well as a last place consolation prize.  Coffee and doughnuts will be available in the morning and lunch will be served following the round.  All registrations must be made by May 29, 2019.

September 27 Younger Member Brewery Tour

Please come out for ASHE Chesapeake’s Younger Member Guinness Open Gate Brewery and Barrel House Tour and Happy Hour on Thursday, September 27th.

This event is open to all ASHE young members, young at heart members, and non-members.

The event will be located at Guinness Open Gate Brewery and Barrel House (5001 Washington Blvd, Halethorpe, MD 21227) and will feature tours, appetizers, drinks, cornhole, and good company. Meet at 5:15pm for food, fun, and networking.

Tour space is limited to 30 people – 15 each for tours beginning at 5:30pm and 6:30pm. RSVP via email to Larry Lanyburd. Indicate your tour time preference.

September 19 Construction Site Visit

Please join ASHE for its September 19th construction meeting at the I-270 at Watkins Mill Road Interchange project in Montgomery County, MD. MD SHA and WAGMAN representatives will host attendees for a presentation and site visit beginning at 9am. Lunch will be provided following the tour at a nearby restaurant.

More details will be posted shortly.

What safety equipment should you wear? Hardhats, safety glasses, hi-visibility vests, sleeved (long or short) shirts, long pants, solid, closed toe shoes or boots are mandatory; steel-toed boots are not required.

This event will be limited to 30 attendees. Once open, registration will be first come, first served.

Cost is $20 for ASHE members and $30 for non-members.

Cheer on the hometown Orioles with your fellow ASHE members as the Orioles host the Boston Red Sox. Bring family and friends and enjoy an evening at the ballpark!

July 29 Hike and Happy Hour

ASHE Chesapeake is going on a hike. Join your fellow ASHE members, guests, and dogs for a 5.2 mile loop hike in Patapsco Valley State Park.

We will be meeting at 9 AM on Sunday, July 29 at 6117 River Road in Elkridge, Maryland to hit the trail shortly thereafter. Invite family, friends, and dogs, if you’d like. Not up for hiking? After the hike, join the crowd at noon at Heavy Seas Brewery (4615 Hollins Ferry Road) for brunch, beverages, cornhole, and giant Jenga.
