June 1, 2024 – Younger* Members Kayak Tour
*and the Young at Heart
PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE
What: Guided Kayak or paddle boat tour of Marley Creek (traveling upstream). Explore the natural wooded portion of the river with potential to see osprey and heron habitats.
When / Where: Saturday, June 1, 2024
Meet at 9:30 am at Solley Cove Park. Event is expected to last until about 2:00 pm.
Lunch will be at Rams Head Dockside around 12:00 pm.
Cost: $10 for ASHE Members. This covers equipment rental and tour from iDesign Engineering and lunch at Rams Head Dockside.

May 31, 2024 – Member Appreciation Night with the Orioles
Thank you for another year of membership with the ASHE Chesapeake Section!
The ASHE Chesapeake Board of Directors would like to extend an invitation to all of our members to join us at Camden Yards for an evening of fun to celebrate a successful year of ASHE.
Please join us on Friday May 31st at Camden Yards to watch the Baltimore Orioles take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Each ASHE member may register to bring one (1) guest. Food and soft drinks will be provided. Alcohol will be available for purchase.

2024 ASHE Poker Tournament
2024 National Project of the Year Awards
Now accepting application for the 2024 National Project of the Year Awards Program! Applications due to ASHE-Chesapeake by January 22, 2024!
ASHE National wants to remind all of our members of the 2024 Annual National Project of the Year Awards Program. The ASHE National Project Award competition allows us to celebrate the tremendous accomplishments of our fellow civil engineers and their impact on the world. The awards will be presented at the 2024 National Conference in Raleigh, NC. For more information, please refer to this informational flyer, the submission requirements, and the entry form.
ASHE Chesapeake members and their firms may submit their projects to the ASHE Chesapeake Section for an administrative review prior to submitting them to the ASHE Mid-Atlantic Regional office. The ASHE Mid-Atlantic Region will submit one project to ASHE National for consideration in each of the under $20M category and the over $20M category for the National Project of the Year competition.
Should you wish to have your submission reviewed for administrative completeness by ASHE Chesapeake, please provide your application by January 22nd to Kathy Walsh (kwalsh@brudis.com) and Greg Barnes (gbarnes@rkk.com).
Alternatively, you may submit directly to ASHE Mid-Atlantic Region (John Harman johng.harman@vdot.virginia.gov and Brian Post bpost@atcsplc.com) by January 29th.

February 1, 2024: Younger* Members High Speed Go-Karting
Join ASHE members of all ages for go-karts, pizza, and networking.
Who: ASHE Younger* Members and Non-Members
What: All Electric High-Speed Go-Karts (up to 50 MPH!) – ASHE has an entire track reserved!
When: Thursday, February 1 – Arrive by 6:00pm. Go-karting from 6:30-7:30pm, pizza and networking until 8:00pm.

Parking:
Parking is free at the Horseshoe Casino parking garage. TopGolf has the entire second floor reserved for TopGolf guests. TopGolf has signage all around the second floor for Topgolf, and an arrow will direct you to the second floor. The parking garage is directly between the Horseshoe and Topgolf. Attendees walk down the stairs and head right, and you will see the venue.
